Mrs. Edith Hardison Tyre, 86, of 5282 Holly Springs Church Road, Williamston, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston with Josh Davenport and David Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Tyre was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Cynthia Gardner and Luther Hardison. Mrs. Tyre was a homemaker and was retired from Hamilton Beach. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church. On Feb. 14, 1940, she married Albert Gray Tyre, who died Jan. 4, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Allen Gray Tyre of Williamston; a daughter, Cynthia Tyre of Williamston; a sister, Pauline H. Tyre of Williamston; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston and other times at the home.
