Mrs. Victoria Cooper Blount, 71, of 285 Juniper Bay Road, Swan Quarter, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Old Richmond Missionary Baptist Church, Swan Quarter, with the Rev. Reginald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Swan Quarter.
Mrs. Blount was born in Hyde County on July 18, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Garfield and Irene McCloud Cooper. She graduated from the Hyde County Schools. On April 23, 1960, she married Lawrence Lenwood Blount Sr., who preceded her in death Sept. 29, 2008. She worked as a seafood technician with Swan Quarter Crab Co. until her retirement. She was a member of Old Richmond Missionary Baptist Church, Swan Quarter.
Survivors include five daughters, Patricia Shelton, Linda Cooper, Rosa Shelton, Carolyn Godard and Darlene Blount, all of Chocowinity; two sons, James Blount of Washington and Lawrence E. Blount of Chocowinity; one son-in-kind, James A. Blount of Swan Quarter; one sister, Hilda Barrow of Swan Quarter; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Lenwood Blount Jr.; one brother, Jessie Cooper and two sisters, Martha McCullor and Bertha Cooper.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Patricia Shelton, 2350 Frederick Road, Chocowinity.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
