WANCHESE, NC — Roy Howard Silverthorne, 56, of Wanchese, NC died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Silverthorne was born in Washington, NC and was a welder. He was the son of the late Henry and Mary Beacham Silverthorne and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary “Mutton” Silverthorne.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki McPherson Silverthorne of the residence; a daughter, Debra Silverthorne of New Bern, NC; three sisters, Sally Williams of Bath, NC, Nancy Wiggins and Maggie Silverthorne both of Washington, NC; two brothers, Jimmy Silverthorne and Steve Silverthorne, both of Washington, NC; two grandchildren; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Willie McPherson of Manteo, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Cudworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence in Wanchese.
Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo is assisting the family with arrangements.
