Mr. Jimmy Lee Gaffney, 61, of 1494 Mill Road, Washington, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, Ky., with the Rev. Louie Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in the Payne-Gaffney family cemetery at Crab Orchard, Ky.
Mr. Gaffney was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Boyle County, Ky. He was the son of Leslie Gaffney and the late Lula Mae Hatfield Gaffney. He served with the Army during the Vietnam War and had worked with Brenco Construction Company of Farmville as a foreman in utility construction.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Gibbs Gaffney; his father and stepmother, Leslie and Morine Gaffney of Lancaster; four daughters, Terry Gaffney Adams of Lancaster, Paula Gaffney Taylor of Junction City, Ky., Faithe Sadler Simpson of Swan Quarter and Hope Sadler of Greenville; two brothers, Art Gaffney of Lancaster and Bobby Gaffney of Versailles, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home. The visitation in Kentucky will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home.
