Mrs. Tina Sparks Banks, 46, of 125 B &B Lane, Blounts Creek died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, Washington with pastor Phillip Jethro officiating. Burial will follow in the Cuthrell Cemetery, Aurora. Curtis Helton, Anthony Bell, Stuart Beavers, Randy Sparks Jr., Randy Sparks Sr. and Billy Peaden will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Banks was born in Alexandria, Va., on Aug. 15, 1962. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Gray Koonce and Mary Elizabeth Norman Koonce. She was a lifelong resident of Beaufort County and worked in quality control at Hackney and Sons. She was married to Arthur T. Sparks, who preceded her in death; she later married Carlton Banks on May 28, 2005, who survives. She was a member of Alligood Church of God.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Sparks of Greenville; one daughter, Sandy M. Sparks of Chocowinity; two brothers, Billie Koonce of Chocowinity and Charlie Ratcliff of Coats; two sisters, Mary Ratcliff of Pinetown and Margaret Beavers of Vanceboro and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leslie Gray Koonce Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. to the funeral hour at Hillside Funeral Service, Washington and other times at the home of her sister, Margaret Beavers, 123 Chandler Road, Vanceboro.
