Mr. Raymond T. Mills, 61, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 surrounded by his family.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:30 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel by the Rev. John Woodley. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Raymond was born in Beaufort County but was a native of Pitt County and a graduate of Chicod School. He served in the United States Air Force and earned a degree in Computer Programming and Electronics from Pitt Community College. He was employed with East Carolina University as an Electronics Technician retiring in 2007 after 27 years of service. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his parents, Barney Lee and Ruth Williams Mills and a brother, Barney Jay Mills.
He is survived by: wife of 41 years, Brenda Bibbs Mills; son, Kevin Ray Mills; and a daughter, Kimberly M. Newton, both of Greenville; brother, Howard E. Mills of Greenville; sisters, Irene M. Mills and husband, Ottis, of Chocowinity, Hazel M. Harris and husband, Elvin, of Greenville, Patsy M. Neal and husband, Earl, of Chesapeake, VA and Marjrie M. Grizzard of Washington, wife of the late Joe Grizzard.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
