Mrs. Sadie Brickhouse Hudson, 96, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairfield Cemetery, with Leon Williams officiating.
Mrs. Hudson was born May 28, 1912, in Tyrrell County. She was the daughter of the late Simeon and Sarah Williams Brickhouse. She lived in Fairfield for many years and was married to Columbus Hudson, who preceded her in death in 1968. She moved to Washington three years ago to live with her daughter. She was a member of Nazareth Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Christopher C. Hudson Jr. of Scottsville, Va.; a daughter, Dorothy R. Hudson of Washington; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Johnie Brickhouse, Alex Brickhouse, Claude Brickhouse, Lafayette Brickhouse, Roy Brickhouse, Sim Brickhouse, Otha Brickhouse and Jim Brickhouse; and two sisters, Annie B. Sawyer and Minnie B. Hussey.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter and other times at the home, 1699 Cherry Road, Washington.
