Mr. Joseph Hyman Jr., 63, of 1698 Long Ridge Road, Plymouth, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Plymouth, with Elder Stanley C. Hicks Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Lee Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mr. Hyman was born in Plymouth on Aug. 13, 1945. He was the son of Martha Hyman of Plymouth and the late Joseph Hyman Sr. He was married to Annie Ruth McIntosh-Hyman, who survives. He was a barber and the owner of The Head Shop. He was a member of Golden Crown Lodge No. 253 and Carthagenia Masonic Lodge No. 38. He was a member of Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Plymouth.
Survivors include one daughter, Joselyn Frizzell of Greenville; four grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Moore of Plymouth; and three brothers, James Hyman and Emanuel Hyman, both of Plymouth, and Freeman Hyman of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Norman.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Plymouth.
