Ms. Vandella Armond Peacox, 69, of 61 Grimes Way, Aurora, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Undenominational Pentecostal Holiness Church in James City with the Revs. Wallace Grimes and Virginia Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hudnell Cemetery.
Ms. Peacox was a native of Pamlico County. She was the daughter of Gertrude A. Robinson of Bayboro. She was a former employee of Tarheel Home Care. She was a member of Ambassadors For Christ Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisha Coward of the home; three brothers, James Robinson of Maryland, Charles Fenderson of New Haven, Conn., and Jimmy Fenderson of Bayboro; four sisters, Shelia Sawyer of Bayboro, Brenda Ratliff of Raleigh, Annie Brown of New Bern and Diadre Faye Moore of New Haven, Conn.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the home and at the home of her mother, 289 McCotter Road, Bayboro.
Viewing will take place today from noon to 6 p.m. at Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern and at the church one hour prior to the service.
