Mrs. Pattie Geneva Simpson, 80, of 104 N.C. Highway 32 North, Roper, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper, with Elder Reginald Jerome Simpson Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rouson family cemetery, Roper.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Plymouth on May 20, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Ober and Suberta Arnold Rouson. She was married to Chester Lee Simpson, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Delane Baptist Church in Roper.
Survivors include three sons, Clifton Simpson and Parish Terry Simpson Sr., both of Norfolk, Va., and Elder Reginald Jerome Simpson Sr. of Suffolk, Va.; four daughters, Dianne S. Fauntleroy of Chesapeake, Va., Chestina Simpson Williams of Roper and Jeannie McNair and Latoya Simpson, both of Plymouth; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7 p.m. at Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
