Miss Ethel Belogenis, 85, of the Cypress Landing community, Chocowinity, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Britthaven Nursing Center, Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington with the Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Miss Belogenis was born in Dover, N.H., on June 5, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Maria G. Belogenis. She was a seamstress in the clothing industry in New York, N.Y., before moving to Cypress Landing in 2004.
Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Miller of Chocowinity and Helen Nicoletti of Connecticut and one brother, John Belogenis of Queens, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Stella Henry and two brothers, Charles Belogenis and George Belogenis.
The family will receive friends Friday following the funeral service until 8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
