Mr. James Earl Moore, 72, of 21093 N.C. Highway 33 East, Edward, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Hooker Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. M. Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Davis family cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born in Beaufort County on May 7, 1936. He was the son of Delzora Moore of Edward and the late James Moore. He attended the Beaufort County Schools and furthered his education in the New York area. He was employed with Time Warner for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Holy Temple Ministries, where he served as minister and musician for several other churches in the area.
Survivors include two goddaughters, Diane Moore of Newark, N.J., and Cardedra Morgan of Edward; two sisters, Pearl Davis and Mary E. Grimes, both of Edward; and one brother, Bobby Moore of Edward.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home of his brother, 21073 N.C. Highway 33, Edward. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
