Mrs. Louise Phelps Snell, 89, of Creswell, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell, with Glenn Brickhouse and Larry Woodley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Snell was born in Washington County, the daughter of the late Linwood and Eva Mae Phelps. She was married to Troy Winton Snell, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell, where she served as treasurer for 30 years.
Survivors include one sister, Jean P. McGowan of Chesapeake, Va.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul A. Phelps.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, and other times at 9045 Newlands Road, Creswell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philippi Church of Christ family life center.
