WINTERVILLE — Maelyn Elizabeth Black, infant daughter of Brad and Amanda Hearring Black, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Duke University Medical Center.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Cedar Wood Cemetery in Hertford.
Maelyn was born on February 17, 2009 with a congenital heart defect.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her: sister, Taylor Ann Black, of the home; grandparents, Carroll and Lela Mae Long Hearring, of Washington, John Douglas Black, of Thomasville, and Judy Ann Halker and her husband, Tim, of Garner; and great-grandparents, Eula Mae Hobbs Long, of Greenville, formerly of Hertford, and Maxine and Keith Foley, of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, 506 Alexander Ave., Durham, NC 27705.
