Mrs. Amanda Griffin Simon of 210 W. 64th St., Manhattan, N.Y., died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in Manhattan, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Owens Funeral Home, Harlem, N.Y.
Mrs. Simon was born in Washington on June 30, 1946. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Lee Williams Griffin. She was married to Falcon Simon, who preceded her in death. She worked at Laguada High School cafeteria in Manhattan, N.Y., until her retirement.
Survivors include six children, Wendy Arsad of Newport News, Va., Tomeka Griffin of Asheville, Parish Griffin of Raleigh, Sonji G. Middledon of Brooklyn, N.Y., Terry Griffin of Atlanta, Ga., and Tyrone Griffin of Manhattan, N.Y.; four brothers, Elder Frank Griffin, Willie Griffin and Edward Griffin, all of Washington, and Ricky Griffin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sisters, Annie Antione of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cora Western and Reva Booth, both of Plainfield, N.J., and Avon Griffin and Irene Stewart, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Griffin and K.D. Griffin.
Local arrangements are by Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
