Mr. Joseph “Joe” Allen Dixon, age 48, a resident of 355 Possum Track Rd. Chocowinity, died Saturday April 4, 2009.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2009 at the Dixon Family Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Earl Edwards Jr. His nephews, Matthew Dixon, Stanley Dixon, Shane Armstrong, Kenny Adams, Thomas Carrow, Brian Dixon and David Dixon will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Dixon was born on March 24, 1961 to the late Allen and Lillian Wall Dixon. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School and held various jobs in construction.
Survivors include three brothers, Jesse Dixon and wife Joan of Chocowinity, Royce Dixon and wife Alice of Chocowinity, Phillip Dixon and wife Jonita of Washington, three sisters, Barbara Adams and husband Charles of Maysville, Lillian Armstrong and husband Jerry of Chocowinity, Sharon Carrow and husband Paul of Washington and one brother-in-law, Buddy Willoughby of Washington. He was preceded in death by one sister, April Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of Jesse and Joan Dixon, 1896 Old New Bern Rd. Chocowinity, NC 27817.
Memorials may be to the Crossroads Baptist Church, 2685 Chandler Rd. Vanceboro, NC 28586.
