Mrs. Blanche Lilley Hardison, 93, of Plymouth, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth.
Born March 20, 1916 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester Lilley and Myrtle Chesson Lilley and was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Jasper Hardison; son, Ernest J. Hardison; sister, Elizabeth Smith; brothers, John Lilley, Sylvester Lilley and Ralph Lilley. Mrs. Hardison was a retired sales clerk with the former Latham’s Shoe Store and was the oldest living member of Plymouth Church of Christ.
Her family includes her daughter, Carolyn H. Harrell and husband Jerry of Bear Grass, N.C.; sisters, Ruth Lilley of Plymouth, N.C., Margaret Harris of Bear Grass, N.C., Lorena Furlough and Pattie Rae Spruill of Roper, N.C.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ Family Life Center and other times at the residence of her daughter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plymouth Church of Christ Building Fund.
Arrangements are by Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth.
