The Beaufort County Relay for Life began Friday evening with announcements, a prayer and a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. Then came the survivors’ lap, in which cancer survivors were honored by taking the first walk around the Washington High School Wagner Stadium track. Other walkers continued the tradition throughout the night; the closing ceremony is at 1 p.m. today. (WDN Photo/Paul Dunn)
