Marjorie G. Quinn, a 97-year-old resident of Plymouth, died the 20th of June 2009.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Plymouth United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.
Marjorie was the wife of the late Ray A. Quinn. She was born in Morganton, GA, the daughter of Laura Carter and Herchel Gardner. She taught school in Copperhill, TN, until she was married on Feb. 4, 1937. Survivors include her daughter Laura Huckabee and husband Carmon of Lynchburg, VA, Heather and Norman Jacob and three children Norman Paul, Thomas and Sarah of Johnson City, TN, Harris and Madeline Huckabee and their daughters Gabriela, Isabela, Victoria and Sophia of Fairfax, VA, Elizabeth and Jon Schreher and son Eli of Cascade, Montana, Laura Ruth and Blaine Hill and their children John, Joseph, Isaac and Eloise of Lexington, SC. The family of Marjories son, the late Thomas Quinn, his wife Sandra of Kingsport, TN, daughter Amy and Mike Ingles and their children Michaela, Kaitlyn and Alexia. A son, Chad Douglas Quinn and a daughter, Emily Grace Quinn. Also, two sisters-in-law Cleo Brackett and Evelyn Quinn of Copperhill, TN. Special nieces Claudia Hicks, Barbara Kestner and Glenda Wattenbarger, nephews Carl Rule and Joseph Gardner.
She was a member of Plymouth UMC, a 50-year member of Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Marjorie Quinn was a receptionist of the Plymouth Clinic and later she was the credit manager at Belk Tyler.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel and at other times at the home place. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Childrens Home.
