Mrs. Helen H. Casey, age 82, a former resident of 71 Casey Drive, Washington died June 26, 2009 at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2009 at Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son Emmett Casey, 215 Casey Drive, Washington.
Mrs. Casey was born July 12, 1926 in Lenoir County to Emmett Clayton Howard and Lottie Susan Howard. She graduated from B. F. Grady High School. On August 14, 1947, Helen married Earl Casey. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1990. Helen was a housewife and a member of Second Baptist Church Washington.
Survivors include one son, Emmett Casey and wife Linda of Washington; one sister, Nancy Lewis and husband Hobson of Washington; two grandchildren, James Casey and wife Beth of Washington and Justin Casey of Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Aisling Casey and Saoirse Casey.
In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Casey; one brother, Ralph Howard; and four sisters, Alma Whealton, Thelma Waters, Naomi Latham and Pete Lambert.
