Bruce E. Midyette, 84, of 10145 U. S. Highway 17-N, Vanceboro, and formerly of Engelhard in Hyde County, died at home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
Born in Hyde County, May 17, 1925, he was the son of the late James Robert and Hattie L. Gibbs Midyette. He attended Engelhard Christian Church and was especially loved by his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter. Pastor Scott Sukeforth of Engelhard will officiate. Burial will follow in Fulford Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennetta E. Kite of Vanceboro; a brother, Wendell Midyette of Napa, California; a sister, Peggy Kennedy of Kinston; grandchildren, Julie Jennetta Ipock, Roger Lee Kite, Jr. and Misty Ann Peccalaio, all of Vanceboro; six great grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by brothers, James T. Midyette and Belton Midyette; sisters, Syble Eubanks, Lola Gibbs and Lillian Spencer.
