Mr. Jasper Evans Woolard, age 73, a resident of 3777 North Boyd Road, Pinetown, NC died Tuesday July 28, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday July 31, 2009 at Everett’s Crossroads Church of Christ.
Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on November 5, 1935, son of the late Elmer Huron Woolard, Sr. and Julia Elizabeth Sullivan Woolard. He attended the Bath schools and was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers College. After graduation, he taught at Deep Creek High School in Virginia and later at Northside. Mr. Woolard was a member of Everett’s Crossroads Church of Christ in Pinetown. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. On December 15, 1961, he married the former Brenda Ruth Boyd who survives.
In addition to his wife, Brenda of the home, he is survived by his sons: Mark Evans Woolard, Sr. and his wife, Nora Jo; Jim Huron Woolard and his wife, Anita and John Boyd “Pooh” Woolard and his wife, Hope all of Pinetown; his sisters: Mabel Alligood and Julia “Hossie” Woolard both of Washington and Isabel Quijo of Williamsburg VA; his grandchildren: Mark Evans Woolard, Jr., Erin Nicole Woolard, Amelia Naomi Woolard, Georgia Hope Woolard, Jada Grace Woolard and Kenan Faith Woolard and his great grandsons: Caden Lee Woolard and Brody Alan Woolard. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers: Elmer H. Woolard, Jr. and John S. Woolard and his sisters: Dorothy Hosey and Gretcha Dixon.
The family will receive friends 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Everett’s Crossroads Church of Christ. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of his son, Mark Woolard located at 574 Boyd Loop Road, Pinetown, NC.
