Edward Wendell Williams, 73, of 2245 Newlands Road, Fairfield died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at his home.
Born in Hyde County, October 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Macon Edward and Inez Cuthrell Williams. He was married to the former Minnie Mae Lassiter who survives. He served in the U.S. Army between the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Rural Letter Carrier in August, 1995. He was a member of the former Fairfield Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery. Leon Williams will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Gary Carlton Williams and his wife, Gay of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter, Sherry Williams Armstrong and her husband, Jimmy of Creswell; a brother, Jeffery S. Williams and his wife, Vendena of Gretna, LA; a grandson, David Williams of Chesapeake, VA.
