Mr. Jesse Larry Boyd, age 59, a resident of 146 Chandler Road, Vanceboro, NC, died Saturday July 25, 2009 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday August 3, 2009, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Pastor David Linton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Benjamin Boyd, Jackey Howard, Mike Nicholson, Nicky Nichols, James Ausbon and Larry Howard, will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Boyd was born in Pitt County on November 27, 1949, son of the late Jesse Boyd and Geneva Sutton Boyd, who survives. He was a metal worker with the Hackney Company of Washington.
Survivors include Mr. Boyd’s mother: Geneva Boyd of Greenville; two sons: Benjamin Ray Boyd and his wife Chase of Kempner, Texas and Jeffery Allen Boyd and his wife Kimberly of Vanceboro; two grandchildren: Courtney Boyd and Kaitlyn Boyd; a brother: James “Jimbo” Boyd of Washington; three sisters: Carolyn Williams and her husband Ernest of Greenville, Jeanette Woolard and her husband Harold of Chocowinity and Sandra Ausbon and her husband James of Washington.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday August 2, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at 160 Haddock Drive, Vanceboro.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to the Courtney and Kaitlyn Education Fund. Checks may be made payable to and mailed to Edward Jones, 3103 U.S. Hwy 17 South, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
