Travis, a resident of Arcadia, La., died on August 17, 2009 in West Monroe, La. He was born on March 9, 1946 in Beaufort County to Mayhew and Lillian Dixon Cayton.
Travis graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1964. He served his country in Vietnam in 1967-1968. He was employed by the state of Louisiana and retired after 30 years as a diesel mechanic.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty years Ann Potts Cayton; daughter Sherry Ali and husband Faisal; sisters Joyce Cayton Whichard, Pat Cayton Newsom, Catherine Cayton Dixon and Joan Cayton Baker; brothers Bobby Cayton of Point Blank, Texas and Mayhew Cayton, Jr. (PeeWee) of Oil City, La.
Travis was preceded in death by his father, Mayhew Cayton and his mother, Lillian Dixon Cayton and an infant brother.
Funeral services were held August 20, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. Interment was at Mt. Lebanon cemetery in Gibsland, La, with military honors. Condolences can be sent to the home of his daughter Sherry Ali, 210 Canyon Ridge, West Monroe, LA 71291.
