Mr. John Joseph Wiesneski, age 63, of Washington, NC, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Evergreen Memorial Estates, 5971 Dudley Road, Grifton, NC with Rev. Joe Daughty officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mr. Wiesneski was born June 20, 1946 in Pittsburg, PA to Joseph Wiesneski and Mary Romanok. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart with an honorable discharge. Mr. Wiesneski was a member and former president of the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department in New York. He retired as a bartender from New York.
He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Wiesneski and many beloved pets. Other survivors are one sister, Janet Romanski; one sister-in-law, Melissa Carlyle; one brother-in-law, Bob Carlyle; two nieces, Brittani French and Kerilynn Struffert; three nephews, Ryan Dale Lewis, Mark Gruber and Adam Carlyle; and one long time friend, Mr. Harold Malik of Washington, along with many other special friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
