Mrs. Betty Ann Dunning Dixon, age 68, a resident of 712 Patton Circle, Apt. 22, Winterville, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at University Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
Graveside service will held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, conducted by Pastor Eric Hill. The following will serve as pallbearers: William Dixon, Jr., Ricky Ray Dixon, Justin Boyette, Brandon Barnes, Bert Gregory, and Tommy Barnes.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Halifax County on September 2, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Margaret Ann Dunning. Mrs. Dixon was a Home Health Care Giver. She was recently recognized for her 15 years of service with Silver Care.
Mrs. Dixon was married to William Arthur Dixon II, who preceded her in death in 1978.
Survivors include her children, Teresa A. Barnes of Belhaven, Betty Jean Shelton of Hopewell, Va., Barbara Boyette of Washington, William Arthur Dixon, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, Ricky Ray Dixon of Washington; eight grandchildren, Renada Dixon, Bert Gregory III, Justin Boyette, Brandon Barnes, Nathaniel J. Hardee, Alexis Dane Dixon, William Arthur Dixon III, Kimberly D. Allen; and two great grandchildren, Landon Dixon and Jordan Dixon.
In addition to her mother and her husband, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by a grandson, William Michael Boyette.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
