Mr. Billy Lene Waters, Sr., age 75, a resident of 108 Citation Drive, Washington, NC died Friday October 23, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2009 at First Church of Christ of Washington officiated by Ray West.
Mr. Waters was born in Beaufort County on September 16, 1934 son of the late Elmer Waters and the late Irene Tetterton Waters. He was a graduate of Pantego High School and served his country in the U.S Air Force. On June 30, 1957 he married the former Velma Bridgeman who survives. Mr. Waters was a farmer who worked at Lee Tractor and Lee Chevrolet. He lived his life in such a way as to be an inspiration to family, fellow church members and friends. Mr. Waters was a member of First Church of Christ where he was president of the Friendship Sunday School Class and participated in the Living Christmas Tree. He was a member of Orr Lodge 104 AF &AM and the Eastern Star.
Surviving along with his wife Velma of the home are a son: Billy Lene Waters, Jr. and his wife Sue of Bath, NC; two daughters: Pam W. Allen and her husband Gregory of Washington and Susan W. Braddy and her husband Galen of Grimesland; a twin brother: Bobby Gene Waters, Sr. and his wife Faye of Pantego; a sister: Joy W. Hubbard and her husband James of Morehead City and five grandchildren: Joshua Brooks Waters and his wife Whitney of Holly Springs, Mallory Hope Waters of Bath, Daniel and Sarah Allen both of Raleigh and Gage Braddy of Grimesland. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by a brother: Donald R. Waters.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service Monday in the Family Life Center at First Church of Christ of Washington.
