Cullop shines for Warriors|Haywood scores three more times

Stephen Cullop made his second start in goal a special one.
Cullop, a former standout at Terra Ceia, started in goal for the Waldford Warriors and kept Faith Baptist College off the scoreboard in Saturday’s 8-0 win.
Playing in cold, rainy and muddy conditions, Cullop played the first 45 minutes. The freshman notched two saves in that time.
Cullop has played in six games, starting two of them.
The freshman goalie has 12 saves and has allowed nine goals in 173 minutes, 38 seconds of time in the net.
The Warriors (5-13, 0-8) play in the Midwest Collegiate Conference play-in game playoff game on Thursday.

MARISSA SMITH
Marissa Smith, a former standout at Washington High School, has one goal this season for the Methodist Monarchs. She had a shot on goal in Sunday’s 8-0 win over Peace, when she went up against former Pam Pack teammate, Jeanna Buck.
The freshman has played in seven of her team’s games, starting one of them.
The Monarchs (9-8-1, 5-2-1 USA South) play at Greensboro College on Friday.
JEANNA BUCK
Jeanna Buck, a former standout at Washington High School, has played in all 15 games for the Peace soccer team this season.
The freshman defender/midfielder has started in 12 of those games. She has nine shots, including five shots on goal, this year.
Peace (1-14, 1-7 USA South) plays host to Meredith College on Friday.
JOHN LOHMAN
John Lohman, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing with the Pfeiffer Falcons’ soccer team.
The freshman midfielder has one shot on goal and has appeared in five games.
Pfeiffer (12-3, 7-1 Conference Carolinas) plays at Limestone on Wednesday.

BRYAN HAYWOOD
Bryan Haywood found the end zone three more times Saturday, leading the North Carolina Wesleyan Bishops to a 51-17 win over Maryville College.
Haywood, a former star at Southside High School, scored on runs of 13, 7 and 6 yards, giving him 10 scores for the season.
He finished with 74 yards rushing on 11 carries, while also leading the Bishops with four receptions for 75 yards.
For the season, Haywood has a team-high 606 yards rushing on 93 carries (6.5 average) and nine touchdowns. He also has 16 receptions for 212 yards and a touchdown, and one kickoff return for 24 yards.
Wesleyan (5-2, 4-0 USA South) plays at Methodist University in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
TRAVIS DANIELS
Travis Daniels scored his eighth touchdown of the year, helping lead the UNC-Pembroke Braves to a 27-9 win over Concord on Saturday.
The former Washington Pam Pack star rushed for 95 yards on 15 carries, including a 1-yard TD plunge. The sophomore also had one catch for 23 yards.
For the season, Daniels has rushed for a team-best 820 yards and eight scores on 116 carries (7.1 average). He also has nine catches for 100 yards.
The Braves (7-1) play at Frostburg State in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
DEBRIANT EVERETT
DeBriant Everett came up with his first collegiate tackle on Saturday in North Carolina Wesleyan’s 51-17 win over Maryville College.
Everett, a former star at Williamston High School, is a freshman linebacker. Playing in his first college game, Everett recorded the tackle in the fourth quarter.
JARRET COFFIELD
Jarret Coffield saw some game action for the North Carolina Wesleyan Bishops in Saturday’s 51-17 win over Maryville College.
The former Williamston High School star completed 1 of 3 passes for 9 yards. He also ran once for 5 yards.
For the season, Coffield is 1 of 4 for 9 yards passing, and has 5 yards rushing on one carry.
TERRY GRIFFIN
Terry Griffin, a former standout at Roanoke High School, had a big day for the Elizabeth City State University Vikings in Saturday’s 38-12 win over Saint Pauls.
Griffin had seven tackles, two sacks, two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.
For the season, the junior defensive tackle has 39 tackles, including 8 tackles-for-loss (39 yards), 4.5 sacks (21 yards), five forced fumbles, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery.
The Vikings (6-3, 4-2 CIAA) play Virginia Union in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
GREG PALMER
Greg Palmer, a former star at Northside High School, had 5.5 tackles for the Chowan Braves in Saturday’s 33-22 win over Johnson C. Smith. Palmer also had two sacks (for 17 yards in loss) and a fumble recovery.
For the season, the senior co-captain has a team-high 47 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss (40 yards), four sacks (34 yards), two fumble recoveries, one interception and one quarterback hurry.
The Hawks (2-7, 2-4 CIAA) play host to Saint Augustine’s in a 12:30 p.m. game Saturday.
KENNETH HYMAN
Kenneth Hyman, a former star at Roanoke High School, had a solid day for the Guilford Quakers in Saturday’s 28-21 loss to Washington and Lee.
Hyman came up with his second interception of the season, returning it two yards. He also had two tackles, and three punts returns for 15 yards.
For the season, the sophomore cornerback has 13 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions and four punt returns for 32 yards (8.0 average).
The Quakers (1-6, 0-3) play host to Randolph-Macon in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
C.J. WILSON
C.J. Wilson, the Conference USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and his East Carolina Pirates play at Memphis tonight.
Wilson, a former star at Northside High School, has 34 tackles, including 5.5 tackles-for-loss (24 yards), 2.5 sacks (16 yards in loss), seven quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery this season.
In his career, Wilson has 24 sacks, 40.5 tackles-for-loss, 28 quarterback hurries and 169 tackles.
The Pirates (4-3, 3-1 C-USA) and Tigers play at 8 p.m.
JAMONT JONES
Jamont Jones had seven tackles for the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in Saturday’s 24-7 loss to Mars Hill.
The former Washington Pam Pack star also had two kickoff returns for 29 yards.
Jones, a special teams standout, has 18 kickoff returns for 523 yards (29.1 average), which includes a 94-yard return for a score, and six punt returns for 57 yards (9.5 average). The starting defensive back also has one interception, 32 tackles and one blocked kick.
The Bears (4-5, 1-4 SAC) play host to Newberry in a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
WILLIAM HUNT
William Hunt, a former star at Plymouth High School, had one tackle for Fayetteville State in Saturday’s 56-6 win over Saint Augustine’s, which clinched a spot in the CIAA championship game for the Broncos.
The freshman defensive tackle has five tackles on the season.
The Broncos (6-3, 5-1 CIAA) play at Livingstone in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
CHASE TRIPP
Chase Tripp did not record any stats for the Winston-Salem Rams in Saturday’s 16-10 win over Bethune Cookman, the team’s first win of the year.
The freshman defensive lineman, a former standout with the Washington Pam Pack, has three tackles and one pass break-up this season.
The Rams (1-6) play host to Hampton University in a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
JAMEL MOORE
Jamel Moore, a former standout at Williamston High School, did not have any stats for Livingstone College in Saturday’s 54-3 loss to Shaw.
For the year, Moore has six kickoff returns for 181 yards (30.2 average), eight receptions for 116 yards and 19 rushes for 5 yards.
The Blue Bears (0-9, 0-6 CIAA) play host to Fayetteville State in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
TERRANCE COPPER
Terrance Copper, a former standout at Washington High School, had one catch for 3 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s 37-7 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Copper has two catches for 11 yards, and six special teams tackles this season.
The Chiefs (1-6) return to action Nov. 8 at Jacksonville.

The sophomore finished in 11th place overall in the 2009 NCCU Cross Country Classic in Durham. Rogers finished in a time of 22:00.15.

Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, is playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves open the regular season Wednesday against the New Jersey Nets.
