Nancy Peele

Nancy Peele of Kinston and native of Williamston died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Martin General Hospital, Williamston. She was born on April 13, 1942, the daughter of the late Christine Leggett Manning Peele and James Bailey Peele, Sr. She was a lifelong member of the Williamston First Christian Church.
She attended East Carolina University before graduating from the Franklin School of Science and Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she received her training in radiologic technology. She was a long-time active member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Nancy went to work at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in January, 1963 and remained employed there until her illness in September, 2009. During her tenure at Lenoir Memorial, she worked both in the Radiology and Laboratory Departments. As a result of her outstanding service, loyalty, and dedication, she was inducted into the Lenoir Memorial Hospital Hall of Honor in September, 2008.
She is survived by her two brothers, James Bailey (Jimmy) Peele, Jr., and wife, Lucille of Bear Grass and Frank Manning Peele and wife, Louise of Norfolk, Va.
Also left to cherish her memory are a nephew, James Bailey (Jimbo) Peele, III and wife, Tonya; two nieces, Jan Carol Peele Revels and husband, Frankie and Julie Peele Hyman and husband Robert; two step-nieces, Michelle Smithson and Renee Perry and husband, Brian; six great nieces and nephews; three step-great nieces and nephews, and three great-great nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Manning Family plot, Woodlawn Cemetery, Williamston by the Reverend Greg Sexton.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home, 414 N. Haughton St., Williamston and other times at the family home at 214 Marshall Avenue, Williamston.
