Charles Charlie Douglas Brown, Jr., 38, of 1091 Evan Perry Rd., Jamesville, NC, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Martin General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Sen. Bob Martin Agriculture Center with Rev. Jay Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Tice Family Cemetery.
Charlie was born on April 13, 1971 in Martin County to Charles Douglas Brown and Cindy Lucille Reason Brown whom survives. He was a Martin County Sheriffs Deputy, Narcotics Officer, and a U.S. Marine veteran having served in Desert Storm. Charlie loved to hunt and fish. He was on the Honor Guard with the U.S. Marines and received the Elegance Medal, he also served as a medic in the Marine Corps, and he was on the N.C. Dept. of Corrections PERT team and served as a sniper. Charlie helped with the Katrina disaster in New Orleans and the Tsunami Disaster in Thailand. He was a K9 officer serving with his faithful dog H2. He was a member of Maple Grove Christian Church.
Survivors in addition to his parents include, Wife, Cindy Davis Brown of the home; Daughters, Morgen Brown and Carlie Brown also of the home; Brother, Chris Brown of Rocky Mount, NC; Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, December 11, 2009 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Sen. Bob Martin Agriculture Center, and other times at the home.
