Pack wrestlers fall to Patriots|Lakers earn sweep over Bears

The Washington Pam Pack wrestlers fell 51-26 to the West Carteret Patriots in Mondays Coastal Conference action.
Daniel Garcia (125 pounds) took a 16-1 technical fall over Darious Ballou to highlight Washingtons night.
Matthew Williamitis (135) added an 11-8 decision over Kyle Erice.
Washingtons three other wins came via forfeit, earned by Dustin Moore, Justin Weasel Moore and Marquin Hill.
Weasel Moore and Hill continue to rack up the wins. Moore is now 28-1 on the season. Washingtons all-time win leader with a career-mark of 153-18, Moore (171) holds a 28-1 record this year. The senior has 14 wins by pin and 11 by forfeit.
Hill, a junior, leads the Pam Pack with a 31-1 record. He has won 29 consecutive matches. The 285-pounder has 19 wins by pin and six by forfeit.
Garcia, a senior, is 18-6. Half of his victories have been by pin.
Junior Michael Gardner (130) also had double-digit wins with a 15-16 record.
The Pack (7-17) returns to action Jan. 23 in the East Carteret Duals.
LAKERS SWEEP
The Mattamuskeet Lakers swept the Bear Grass Bears in Tideland basketball action. The Mattamuskeet boys picked up a 58-39 win as David Grays had 13 points, Saquon Cunningham 12, Emoni Byrd 11 and Denvonte Green 10.
The Mattamuskeet girls, getting 20 points from Antasia Cox, won 56-38. Angel Pearsall led Bear Grass with 15 points.
TIGERS WIN
The Williamston Tigers took a 62-53 win over Manteo in Mondays prep basketball action.
The Tigers (7-4, 3-2 Four Rivers Conference) got 17 points from K.J. Brown and 13 apiece from Kiyon Coffield and Ramelle Lenier.
Williamston plays at Southside on Friday.
