The Washington Pam Pack swim teams had a successful home finale. The boys took first place with 127 points, followed by West Carteret (97) and South Central (71).
This was a big win for our boys to help build our confidence going into the (Coastal) conference championship next Wednesday in New Bern, Washington coach Spencer Pake said. They pulled together and had some great swims to beat West Carteret for the first time this year.
Washingtons girls finished in second with 92 points. South Central won the event with 126 points and West Carteret was third (68).
We were missing one of our girls, which made our numbers even lower, but we had some solid swims from the rest of the girls and they were able to take second place, Pake said.
The Pack boys were solid in the relays, winning the 200 yard medley, 200 yard free and 400 yard free.
