Pungo Raiders make it a clean sweep|Emmanuel boys win again

The Pungo Raiders made it a clean sweep of Bethel on Tuesday.
Zack Credles 37 points powered the Raiders (7-9) to an 84-78 win. Joseph Braddy added 18 points, Christopher Armstrong 11, Tyler Mann 11, David Talley 5 and Dillon Woolard 4.
Allison Armstrong had 18 points to lead the Pungo girls (10-13) to a 32-26 win. Jodi Rose added 7, Jenna Sadler 6, Jordan Dunbar 5, Tess Smithwick 4 and Melanie Harris 2.
The junior varsity boys posted a 36-31 win and the junior varsity girls earned a 32-24 victory.
Pungos boys play at Northeast on Thursday. The Raider teams then play host to Lawrence on Friday.
COUGARS WIN
The Emmanuel Cougars picked up an 83-41 win over Heritage on Tuesday.
Hunter Boyd led the Cougars (11-2, 5-1) with 21 points and 8 rebounds.
Josh Chandler added 19 points and 10 rebounds, Andrew Barmer 18 points and 12 boards, Christian Watters 16 points, Daniel Brantley 7 points and Jacob Rusch 2 points.
The Emmanuel girls (8-4, 4-2) fell 42-27.
Jessica Rowe had 7 points and 5 steals, Megan Barr 6 points and 6 rebounds and Chris Morris 5 points and 6 steals.
The Cougars play host to Cornerstone on Tuesday.
LADY HAWKS FALL
The eighth-ranked Southside Lady Seahawks had no answers for Quinyotta Pettaway, who led the Perquimans Pirates to a 66-52 win Tuesday evening.
Pettaway finished with a game-high 43 points.
Southside (14-3) was led by Katisha Hymans 23 points.
Southsides junior varsity boys (11-4, 7-3) fell 80-76 despite 22 points from Derick Cannon and 21 from Rokeem Miller.
The Seahawks return to action Friday at Roanoke.
LADY KNIGHTS FALL
The Terra Ceia girls basketball team came up just short Tuesday, falling 41-39 in overtime against Albemarle.
Terra Ceia (5-17, 1-8) got 15 points from Hollie McDonald, 12 points from Katie Jackson and 11 rebounds out of Paige Roberson.
