PLYMOUTH — Mrs. Nick Ayers Swain, 80, of Plymouth died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth.
Born January 23, 1930 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Edward Lionel Ayers and Allison Owens Ayers and was preceded in death by her husband, John Lloyd “Jack” Swain; sisters, Margaret A. Midyette, Edna A. Givler, Virginia A. Spruill and Carolyn A. Spruill; brothers, Carroll Ayers, Adrian Ayers and Phillip Ayers. Nick was co-owner of Jack’s Union 76 Station and later was a sales associate for Belk Department Stores and member of Plymouth United Methodist Church.
Her family includes her sister, Marie A. Hughes of Whiteville, N.C. and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 am at Plymouth United Methodist Church with Reverend Jay Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
