Mr. Terry McCoy “Bud” Jones, age 68, a resident of 203 Slatestone Rd. Washington, died Thursday, February 18, 2010.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Marty Alligood. Charles Smith, Allan Smith, Kelly Smith, Dennis Lilley, Walter Cratch and Ray Woolard will serve as pallbearers. Albert “Jinx” Hayes and Danny Haislip will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Jones was born in Beaufort County April 10, 1941 to the late Ralph Orville Jones and Annie Weston Jones who survives. On March 23, 1963 he married Vickie Jarvis at First Christian Church of Washington. He was a 1960 graduate of Aurora High School, worked as a mechanic for Roberson Beverage, Washington Motor Company, Motor Parts and loved to hunt and fish when his health would allow. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his mother, Annie Weston Jones; his wife Vickie Jarvis Jones of the home; one daughter, Terrie Lynn Jones Johnson and husband Chris of Pana, Illinois; one sister, Joann Smith and husband Charles of Blounts Creek; one brother, Larry Jones and wife Gloria of Blounts Creek; two grandchildren, Timothy and Hollie Johnson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Gray Jones.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
