Mrs. Ruth Modlin Thronburg, age 55, a resident of 60 West Barr Road, Chocowinity, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Derik Davis.
Mrs. Thronburg was born in Plymouth on March 2, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Hassell Modlin and Annie Elizabeth Mobley Modlin. Mrs. Thronburg worked as a waitress.
Mrs. Thronburg was married to Ronald L. Thronburg, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Carolyn Fulford and her husband, Bobby of Chocowinity; two granddaughters, Thesally Ann Fulford and Savanna Nicole Fulford both of Chocowinity; a brother, Danny Modlin of Washington; and three sisters, Millie Whitehurst and Laura Edmundson both of Tarboro, Georgia “Peggy” Cox of Greenville, S.C.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thronburg was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Prince.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home Washington and other times at the home.
