Mrs. Reba Lee Jefferson Dunbar, age 82, a resident of 60 Furman Lane, Chocowinity, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Jason Kirkman and Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Ward, David Smith, Jerry Jefferson, Greg Purser, Jeff Hardy, Terry Ward, Gary Hollis, Julian Pierce and Timmy Jefferson will serve as active pallbearers. Randy Smith, Kenny Jones, Jerry Ward, Bonner Hollis, Earl Chandler, and Lou Ensley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Dunbar was born in Beaufort County on February 24, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Titus Adelphia Jefferson and Lillie Mae Smith Jefferson. Mrs. Dunbar was a wonderful homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Haw Branch Church of Christ. Mrs. Dunbar loved to cook for her family, friends and the employees of D &H Supermarket. She loved tending to her flowers and collecting dolls. Mrs. Dunbar had a fabulous sense of humor, enjoyed being with her granddaughter, visits from her nieces and nephews and loved going to Wal-Mart.
On October 3, 1953, Mrs. Dunbar married Milford Leon “Red” Dunbar, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Deloris Creasman of Blounts Creek; her granddaughter, Candice Creasman of Raleigh; her brother, John Jefferson and wife, Elsie of Grimesland; and her sister, Shirley Jefferson Smith and husband, Randy of Greenville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dunbar was preceded by her siblings, David Jefferson, Mildred Mae Jefferson, Jesse Vaner Jefferson, Harold Smith Jefferson and Edmond Harold Jefferson.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home, 60 Furman Lane, Chocowinity.
