Mrs. Dora Brickhouse Everett, 79, of Roper, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.
Born February 16, 1931, in Tyrrell County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie E. Brickhouse and Gladys Godwin Brickhouse and was preceded in death by her son, Linwood R. Everett, III; brother, Harvey E. Brickhouse; sisters, Evelyn B. Sexton and Vadis B. Twiddy. Mrs. Everett was a retired accountant with Roses Department Stores and member of Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ.
Her family includes her husband Linwood R. Everett of Roper, N.C.; daughters, Ann E. Holt and husband Wayne of Graham, N.C. and Wanda E. Rhodes and husband Carroll Jr. of Plymouth, N.C.; brothers, Harley W. Brickhouse of Maryville, TN. and James B. Brickhouse of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 23, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ with Mark Wilmoth and Dennis Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in Albemarle Church of Christ Cemetery, Columbia. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ, Roper and other times at the residence.
