Bryan Keith Woolard was a huge baseball fan.
Woolard, a 1994 graduate of Northside High School, helped the Panthers win the high school baseball championship in his senior season.
He was a catcher on the state championship team. Woolard also received the MVP award that year.
Woolard, who tragically died in an automobile accident on Jan. 3, 2009, will be remembered prior to Northsides home baseball game against Southside. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The Bryan Keith Woolard Baseball Scholarship, a $500 scholarship, will be presented for the second straight year.
Keith and Wendy Woolard, Woolards parents, presented Holden Cox with the award last year.
Woolard, who would have turned 34 on May 11, went on to play at Lenoir Community College. He received the Defensive Player Award at Lenoir.
He later volunteered as a coach for the 5-6 year-old Lee Chevrolet baseball team.
