Mr. Joseph Saunders “Joe” Roberson, age 54, a resident of 108 Tern Bay, Pamlico Plantation, Washington, NC died Monday May 10, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday May 12, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery of Washington officiated by Minister Fred Wilson.
Mr. Roberson was born on November 17, 1955 to the late John Bennett Roberson and Janie Gurganus Roberson, who survives. He was a 1974 graduate of Williamston High School. On September 19, 1977, Mr. Roberson married the former Faye Heath, who survives. Along with his wife, he owned and operated D &H Equipment Company of Washington and D &H Home and Garden of Chocowinity. Mr. Roberson was an active member of Unity Church of Christ. He enjoyed family, friends, gardening and was a great husband and father.
In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Roberson is survived by a son: Joseph Heath Roberson and wife Denise of Washington, three brothers: John Roberson and wife Sue of Washington, Sammy Roberson and wife Linda of Wake Forest and Jim Roberson of Williamston, five nephews and nieces: Chris Roberson, Dana Lewis, Brooke Roberson, Tommy Roberson and Kirk Roberson, a lifelong friend: Keith Brown and wife Becky of Williamston and three dogs: Lucy, Ginger and Josie.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 11, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home located at 108 Tern Bay, Pamlico Plantation, Washington, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Unity Church of Christ, 727 River Road, Washington, NC 27889 or Open Door Christian Ministries, 500 Weston Road, Creswell, NC 27928.
