Jeffrey Mason “Jeff” Cuthrell, age 46, passed away May 12, 2010 at the home of his parents, Jerry and Connie Cuthrell, following a battle with cancer for several months.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday May 15, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Dr. Jimmy Moore. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with military honors.
Jeff was born in Spokane, Washington and lived in Richmond, VA and Columbus, GA before moving to Washington, NC with his parents at the age of eight. He attended Pamlico Community School and Pungo Christian Academy before graduating from Washington High School in 1981. Jeff was active in Scouts and played Little League Ball. After graduation, he attended Pitt Community College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. After basic training he was stationed at Biloxi, Mississippi and served in communication at Croughton AFB in England for most of his time in the Air Force. He received an early honorable discharge. Following his military service he attended ECU for a short time. He was disabled and spent the rest of his life in Eastern NC, mostly in Washington.
Jeff is survived by his parents: Jerry and Connie Cuthrell of Washington and a brother: David Cuthrell of Carrboro, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday May 14, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Jeff's parents located at 234 Riverside Road, Washington, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions may be made to Beaufort County Chapter Relay for Life, c/o Lisa Alligood, 7581 Broad Creek Road, Washington, NC 27889.
