Mr. James Reuben Ferrell, age 64, a resident of 3805 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Rev. Carter S. Askren.
Mr. Ferrell was born in Wilson County on November 5, 1945. He was the son of Hazel Mae Wood Ferrell and the late Reuben Henry Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell served in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Ferrell's Gas Station and Gun Shop for several years. Later, Mr. Ferrell was a U.S. Mail Carrier for the Blounts Creek area. Most recently, he owned and operated Lapcom Computers as long as his health permitted.
On January 3, 1966, Mr. Ferrell married the former Marabeth Butcher, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his two daughters, Tabatha Ann Ferrell and Samantha James Ferrell both of Washington; his mother, Hazel Mae Wood Ferrell of Washington; and his two grandchildren, Logan Ferrell Reason and Rowan Fawn Reason.
In addition to his father, Mr. Ferrell was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Ferrell.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
