Eleanor Latham Hennessey

Eleanor Latham Hennessey, 90, Late of Hawaiian Paradise Park and former Washington, N.C., native, died December 14, 2009 at the Life Care Center in Hilo, Hawaii.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at the First Christian Church, 401 E. Second Street, officiated by Dr. Michael Price. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the gathering room of the church.
Eleanor was born in Ayden, N.C., on May 12, 1919 to the late Elmer A. Latham and Bonnie Dixon Latham. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry W. Hennessey, Sr., by brothers Raymond Lee Latham, Sr. and William E. Latham and a grandson Jason Pasternak.
After graduation from Washington High School, Eleanor completed her education in Philadelphia where she became a Registered Nurse and married Harry Hennessey. The couple spent most of their married lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where they raised their family. In later years, Eleanor worked as a Director of Nurses in the Florida Christian Home until her retirement.
Survivors include a son: Harry (Maybelle) Hennessey of Paradise Park; Two daughters: Helen (Mika) Fowler of Tallahassee, Florida and Susan (Joseph) Pasternak of Mardela Springs, MD; Grandchildren Sean (Corrine) Hennessey of Reno, NV; Amy Hennessey of Honolulu, HI; and Bonnie (Richard) Pasternak Shoemaker of Hebron, MD; Three Great Grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and members of the local Dixon and Latham families.
