Mrs. Paula Russ Amos, age 70, a former resident of the Wenona community of Pantego died Saturday August 14, 2010 at Plumblee Nursing Center of Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday August 17, 2010 Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven officiated by Phillip Paul. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in the Pungo community of Pantego.
Mrs. Amos was born in Beaufort County on October 31, 1939 daughter of the late Howard Melville Russ, Sr. and the late Joanna Paul Russ. She was a 1958 graduate of Warwick High School in Newport News, VA. Mrs. Amos married James Douglas Amos, Sr. on October 20, 1958 who preceded her in death on April 11, 1998.
Mrs. Amos is survived by three sons: James D. Amos, Jr. and Charles Howard Amos both of Hampton, VA and Jeffrey Craig Amos and his wife Renee of Seaford, VA.; two brothers: Jimmy Russ of Pantego and Anthony Russ of Fairfield and three grandchildren: Blake, Taylor and Tyler Amos. Mrs. Amos was preceded in death by a brother: Melville Russ.
The family will receive friends Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
