Mr. Edward Earl Craft, age 89, a resident of 267 Hideaway Road, Belhaven, NC died Sunday August 29, 2010 at the University Healthcare Hospice Center in Greenville, NC.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday September 1, 2010 at the Bethany United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Corbin Cherry and Timm Hackett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Timmy Selby, Danny Selby, Jim Elrod, Joe Cornelius, Bill Frey, Ricky Radcliffe will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey and Scott Laing, Dillon Toler, Tyler Alligood, John Perry White and Mehgan Harris.
Mr. Craft was born in Washington County on December 26, 1920 son of the late Cecil Clarence Craft, Sr. and the late Clara Louise Allen Craft. He attended Washington County Schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married the former Lulladean Jordan who preceded him in death in April of 1996. Mr. Craft later married the former Joan Davis Selby on March 9, 1997 who survives. He was a technician with the Washington County Soil Conservation Agency. Mr. Craft was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with Mr. Crafts wife Joan of the home are two sons: Danny Selby and his wife Brenda of Belhaven and Timmy Selby and his wife Georgie of Belhaven; a nephew/son: Lloyd Nobles and his wife Denise of Plymouth; a niece/daughter: Tana Kearns and her husband Michael of Raleigh; two sisters: Evelyn Duzan of Vanceboro and Mildred Clark of Belhaven; seven grandchildren: Daniel Selby, Jr., Gentry Setters and her husband Jason, Savanna Selby, Caroline Elzey, Bridgette Elzey, Kimberly Nobles and Kristin Nobles White; a nephew/grandson: Eric Jordan and his wife Kim and five great grandchildren: Sidney Selby, Walker Selby, Ainsley Setters, Kylie Jordan and Shane Jordan. Mr. Craft was preceded in death by a brother: Cecil C. Craft, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the home.
