Nine units — and “two selling absolute” — at Washington’s upscale Moss Landing development will be auctioned off Oct. 9, according to the United Country-The Redfield Group website.
Sources close to the waterfront development project privately confirmed the auction late Wednesday afternoon, but details were scarce. None of the sources were willing to be quoted directly.
The exact reason for the auction couldn’t be determined at once Wednesday, but sources said the lackluster real-estate market has contributed to the residential development’s woes.
Of 21 units on the property, 12 have been sold, according to Beaufort County tax records.
Nine unsold units have been built, and another seven are planned for in the next phase of the development, said Maria Wilson, a real-estate broker with Coldwell Banker Coastal Rivers Realty.
The condominiums start at $369,000 for a two-bedroom, one-level unit, Wilson related.
According to the website, the properties will be open for public viewing from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily from Oct. 2 through the day of the auction.
