Mrs. Sherri Denise Selby McCue, age 40, a resident of 35363 US Hwy 264 East, Engelhard, NC died Thursday September 2, 2010 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday September 6, 2010 at the Engelhard Christian Church officiated by Pastor Scott Sukeforth. Members of Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. McCue was born in Beaufort County on July 16, 1970 daughter of the late Sherwood Jones Selby and the late Lessie Veraldine Lanier Selby. She was a 1988 graduate of Mattamuskeet High School and earned two degrees from Beaufort County Community College in accounting and business administration. Mrs. Sherri married William Joseph “Bill” McCue, Jr. on October 20, 2007 who survives. She was co owner/operator of Selby's Pool Room a member of Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Engelhard Christian Church and a former employee of Hyde County EMS.
Surviving along with her husband Bill of the home is a sister: Viola S. Williams and her husband Odell of Swan Quarter; a nephew, Tyler and a niece, Mary Grace.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour Monday at the church and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 296, Engelhard, NC 27824.
