Mr. Dale William Hubers, age 59, a resident of 183 Clifton Meadows Drive, Washington, NC died Wednesday September 29, 2010 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday October 2, 2010 at Covenant United Reformed Church of Pantego officiated by Pastor Calvin Tuininga.
Dale was born in Sioux Center, IA on July 9, 1951 son of the late Albert John Hubers and the late Elsie Wassink Hubers. He was a 1970 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School. Dale married the former Barbara Carawan on September 23, 1977 who survives. He was the owner operator of Durango Trucking and was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church of Pantego.
Surviving along with Dale’s wife Barbara of the home is a daughter: Amy Shingleton and her husband Bryan of La Grange, NC; three brothers: Don Hubers and his wife Cindy, Wade Hubers and wife Trudy and Roy and his wife Kathleen all of Pantego; two sisters: Kathy Van Dorp and her husband Al of Jamestown, NC and Florence Plender and her husband Norm of Orange City, IA; five grandchildren: Jenny and Laura Quick, Brianna, Dillon and Bryan Shingleton, Jr.; a mother-in-law: Sophia Carawan of Baton Rouge, LA; and a brother-in-law: David Van Carawan and his wife Barbara of Baton Rouge, LA.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at Covenant United Reformed Church.
Dale’s family would like express their heartfelt expression of gratitude and special thank you to Dr. Pam Lepera, Dr. Emmanuel Zervos and Denise Brigham all of Leo Jenkins Cancer Center and to the employees of University Hospice.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, 600 Moye Blvd. Greenville, NC 27834.
