Mr. Lorenza A. Staten, 79, of 1726 Free Union Rd., Jamesville, died Oct. 14, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Bishop Daniel Boston officiating. Burial will follow in Uniontown Church cemetery.
Mr. Staten was born on December 9, 1930 in Martin County. He was the son of the late Wilford and Dora Keyes Staten. He was a member of Uniontown Church of Christ serving as a trustee. He was married to the late Artelia Peele Staten.
Survivors include three sons: Marvin Staten, Greenville, Johnnie Staten, Richmond, VA, Shelton Staten, Greensboro; daughter Angela Spruill, Selma; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Uniontown Church of Christ and other times at the home.
